Job Description
Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Truck Dispatcher to coordinate daily logistics operations. The ideal candidate will have prior dispatching experience in the trucking or logistics industry and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. This position is critical to ensuring that drivers are assigned efficiently and that freight moves on schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, assign, and dispatch trucks based on schedule, driver availability, and job priority
Monitor driver locations and load progress throughout the day
Maintain open communication with drivers, customers, and operations staff
Resolve delays, equipment issues, and last-minute changes with quick decision-making
Record daily dispatch activity and update logs and systems accurately
Ensure all loads are tracked and on-time delivery is prioritized
Handle driver check-ins, job updates, and basic troubleshooting support
Requirements:
Previous truck dispatching experience preferred
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
Must have reliable transportation and the ability to commute to work site
Proficient in basic computer systems, GPS tracking, and phone communication
Work Schedule:
Friday – Monday
7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (10-hour shifts)
