Responsibilities

• The PE-II will be the primary contact in the estimating process with responsibility for working with management on content and scope of each estimate.
• Field observations and inspections, onscreen estimating, proposal writing, detail review, client interactions, change order management and association involvement (on committees within associations).
• Lead contract scope verification, client relationship and overall project engagement from start to finish, including client education and leading client meetings.
• Independently conduct field inspections to determine project requirements.
• Run handoff meetings with the Operations Team.
• Must have a general understanding of construction processes for new construction and remedial projects (codes, wind uplift pressures, thermal and moisture intrusion, materials and methods).

Qualifications

• Experience: If applicant does not have a four-year degree, a minimum of five (5) years construction experience with at least two (2) years of estimating experience.
• Skills: Microsoft Office, English speaking; bilingual preferred.
• Abilities/Requirements:
• Must meet all requirements of PE-I.
• Ability to interpret and understand construction documents.
• Understand general construction items (as listed in Job Description).
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Problem solving and dispute resolution skills.
• Strong work ethic / self-starter.
• Negotiation and relationship building skills (sales ability).
• Career ambition to move up within Chamberlin.
• Strong time management skills (able to estimate and manage 3 to 5 jobs per week).
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be able to climb scaffolding, stairs, ladders (standing, stooping, bending, lifting, etc.).

Education

• Four-year college degree or five (5) years construction experience with at least two (2) years of estimating experience.
